Designing simplicity into client engagement

Delivering a bold new digital initiative for the IoD

As featured in the Financial Times and Evening Standard, the Institute of Directors commissioned WJ to develop the IoD Advance sub-brand and its application to an app giving members smart phone control of their IoD experience.

Capturing the dedication of architects

Walker Bushe is a well established architecture practice where the people are as proud of their culture and working practices as they are of their work. We've partnered with them on projects and designed their identity, direct marketing and website, capturing the knowledge and values they put into everything they do.

Animating the brand for a tv show

October films commissioned WJ to produce the opening credits and graphic animations for a new show 'Deadly Dilemmas' shown on the Discovery Channel.

Maintaining the integrity of a trusted brand

Rathbones have been an investment bank since 1742. For the past 10 years WJ has helped them communicate the skill and integrity embedded in their service, expressing how their constant values are as applicable to clients today as they have been over the last three centuries.
Turning a primary school into a zoo

Turning a primary school into a zoo

Park Walk is a small, friendly school located just off the King's Road, London. In partnership with Walker Bushe Architects we developed a simple graphic language, depicting animals large and small, to decorate their lift entrances, atrium and shaft. The new style environment added to the school's personality and expressed the sense of wonder they encourage children to have.

Expressing the supreme luxury of a jewellery brand

Joaillier Privé create unique pieces of jewellery that are so premium and bespoke they have no need for shops. They come to you. WJ rationalised their brand and produced a flagship brochure to showcase their skill and quality. The exclusive nature of their brand was evident in every detail of our design.

Capturing the dynamism of PR Week's 'Agency of the year'

W have been PR Week's agency of the year for the past 3 years. They are an expert, ambitious and dynamic organisation working with over 50 big name brands including Levis, Soho House, Google, L'Oréal, Ben & Jerry's, Unilever and Facebook. We produced an identity for them that captured the exciting range of work they're involved in and the passion they have for their clients.

Building a distinctive financial services brand

A frit is a ceramic composition that is fused in an oven and quenched to form granulated glass. This project won a much prized D&AD award.

More of our work

Rathbones: Annual report and accounts

WJ have produced Rathbones' annual report and accounts for the past nine years. This is the latest incarnation, with rounded corners and scene setting imagery – a major leap from where we first started. The bespoke photography sits among 180 pages, more than 60 graphs and 80 charts, making this a big beast to deliver with an immovable deadline. Our 'real world' practical design approach and meticulous project management ensures this very involved project always completes, on time and to the highest of standards.

IoD: Advance sub-brand and app

IoD Advance is an app that enables a greater level of interactivity for IoD members. We designed the overarching brand and how it was applied to the interface. Hailed as 'Tinder for Business' by the Evening Standard and also featured in the FT, the app has been a huge success, meeting all its membership sign up targets. Everything is different from the traditional way a member might engage with the IoD. For example, when visiting the IoD building you sign up via a QR (Quick Response) code. An alert is then sent to members of your network who are in the building. The app also allows you to have free flow communications with other members and mentors as well as keeping you up to speed so you can make the most of your membership.

Rathbones: Client documentation

Client sign up is key to Rathbones' continued success but with so many different services and options the range of forms involved is enormous. The right form needs to be sent to the right person every time to ensure the sign up process never falters. Having helped with a review of all existing forms and client packs, we helped Rathbones simplify the whole suite. Consistency was key to build familiarity and ease for all internal and external audiences who participate in filling and checking forms. We streamlined the formats, typography, colour ways and graphic elements in use, building in clear signposting of different types. Rathbones now have a collection of forms that meet all internal needs, while being accessible and straightforward for their clients.

Joaillier Privé: Brochure

Joaillier Privé offer a unique bespoke jewellery service. They are not on the high street which is why their brochure is so key in communicating with potential clients. WJ were asked to rationalise their brand and produce their stationery, certificates and brochure. This work needed to communicate the quality, expertise and exclusivity of their offer.

Walker Bushe: Website

WJ have helped Walker Bushe with their marketing for many years, designing their identity, producing direct marketing and creating presentations. Our most recent collaboration is the company website. Walker Bushe needed it to do three things. Show their work, show the sectors they work in and show how they work. It was important for them to communicate their culture as well as the commissions they've been involved in, to appeal to both clients and potential employees. www.walkerbushe.com

Ashcourt Rowan: Identity

Ashcourt Rowan are in the wealth management business. We were asked to develop their brand and brand language making them more distinctive, modern and confident. From a practical point of view the identity also needed to be clear and robust enabling the marketing team to commission agencies with confidence and ensuring third party suppliers could efficiently and effectively meet their needs.
